Sonia has published several papers in reputable international Journals including the Journal of Media and Communication studies, China Media Research, International Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities Review etc. More so, some of her research findings have being presented at several international and national conferences including the South African communication conference with the theme communicating in a Global Village, Idowu Sobowale conference on Media Governance and Development in Africa, Pan African University conference on Journalism and New Media Technologies in Africa, and the China Association for Intercultural Communication & Association for Chinese Communication Studies International Conference on Global Health and Communication. Sonia's main area of research interest is Media Literacy and Health Communication. She is currently carrying out a research in this area to churn out her PhD dissertation. Other on-going researches include: Use of Alcohol, Illicit Drugs and Tobacco among Characters on African Magic; Media in the Lives of 8-18years Olds in South -West Nigeria; Preventing Alcohol and Tobacco Use among Young People in Lagos.
